Called to Build the Church: Postulants’ Spiritual Retreat

St. Joseph Formation House Postulancy conducted its Spiritual Retreat 2025 from March 12 to 14, 2025, at Tahanang Pari, Sacred Heart Village, Lagro, Quezon City. The retreat was facilitated by Fr. Eric de la Peña, OFMConv. and was attended by six brother postulants—four second-year postulants entering the Novitiate, namely Bros. Gil Acayen Jr., Arnel Tagulalap, John Glenn Galvez, and Ivanh Lloyd Cruz, and two first-year postulants, Edrine Palatino and Samuel Talangan.

The retreat focused on the Prayer of St. Francis before the San Damiano Crucifix and his mandate to build the Church, which served as the central theme for reflection. The spiritual exercises included the celebration of the Eucharist, the Liturgy of the Hours, the Rosary, and Eucharistic Adoration.

The retreat concluded with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Eric, alongside Fr. Lorenzo Avelino, OFM, the director for Postulancy. Deo Gratias!
