Annual Custodial Retreat: Return to Interiority and Spirituality in Life Transition

The Solemnly Professed Friars held their Annual Custodial Retreat from January 5–9, 2026, at the Mirador Jesuit Villa and Retreat House in Baguio City. The retreat was facilitated by Fr. Renato de Guzman, who served as the Retreat Master.

Centered on the theme “Return to Interiority and Spirituality in Life Transition,” the retreat invited the friars to deepen their interior life and to prayerfully reflect on their personal journeys of conversion. Through guided conferences, periods of silence, and personal reflection, the participants were led to recognize and name God’s transforming action in their lives.

The annual retreat also served as a vital spiritual preparation for the forthcoming Custodial Chapter scheduled on February 3, 2026. Moments of fraternal encounter were fostered through the celebration of the liturgy, shared meals, and group sharing, thereby strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among the friars.

In addition, the participants were able to enjoy the serene beauty and refreshing cool climate of Baguio City, known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines, which provided an atmosphere conducive to prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
