A Call to Rejoice With Mary for the Lord is Coming Soon

Third Sunday of Advent

Rejoice in the Lord always. Indeed the Lord is near!

The Liturgy of this Sunday invites us to rejoice for the Lord’s coming is at hand, and He will not delay.

God will come through His Son Jesus, to restore all things, Although, not everyone will accept him, but for those who wait eagerly and patiently for his coming, there will be redemption and fullness of life. They will be freed from the bonds of slavery, they will be free children of God.

When we are sincere in our search for God, Jesus will confirm by opening the eyes of our faith.

In the Gospel today, John the Baptist redirects his disciples to Jesus, to be able to confirm that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus confirms not so much by hearing but by seeing the works of salvation.

When we are sincere in our search for God, Jesus will confirm by opening the eyes of our faith. The salvific coming of Jesus more than 2000 years ago is confirmed every time we gather to celebrate the Eucharist. But only those who wait patiently will be able to see the coming of the Lord.
