Renewal of Vows, Postulancy Acceptance, and Commemoration on the Solemnity of the Assumption

On August 15, 2024, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Custody celebrated the following events: the Renewal of Religious Profession of Vows, Acceptance into the Postulancy, and the Commemoration of the 40th day of Fra Leo Ma. Estanislao, OFMConv.

Six Simple Professed Friars—Fra Matthias Ma. Montero, Fra Gregory Ma. Salva, Fra Martin Ma. Gabito, Fra Isidore Ma. Ayon-Ayon, Fra Augustine Ma. Asilo, and Fra Yosef Ma. Amedo—renewed their religious profession of vows. Fra Raphael Ma. Ysulan, OFMConv., and Fra Daniel Ma. Sugatan, OFMConv., served as witnesses. The renewal ceremony took place at St. Maximilian Friary during the 6:00 p.m. Mass, presided over by the Provincial Custos, Fra Emmanuel Ma. Giva, OFMConv.

Likewise, two brothers were accepted into the Postulancy program: Edrine Palatino from Paete, Laguna, and Samuel Talangan from Buho, Camarines Sur. They were invested with the gray polo and Tau Cross at St. Joseph Friary, Tagaytay City. Fra Lorenzo Avelino, OFMConv., the Guardian, was delegated to accept the brothers. He was assisted by Fra Timothy Navarro, OFMConv., and Fra Matthew Farano, OFMConv.

In conjunction with the renewal of vows, the community also commemorated the 40th day since the passing of Fra Leo Estanislao, OFMConv. The commemoration was attended by his family, relatives, and friends, who gathered to honor his memory.

The celebration was graced by the presence of family, friends, relatives, benefactors, and members of the OFS. It concluded with a shared meal, where attendees came together in fellowship to celebrate the occasion.
