Exhumation of the remains of Fra Giuseppe Olayvar and Fra Jose Costuya

On July 12, 2024, at 10:00 am, Solemn and Simple Friars from various communities, led by the Provincial Custos, Fra Emmanuel Giva, OFMConv., along with the postulants and parishioners from San Agustin Parish, gathered at Manila Memorial Park, Sucat Parañaque for the exhumation of the remains of two friars: Fra Giuseppe (Michael) Olayvar (February 24, 1974 – March 6, 2003) and Fra Jose (Alan) Costuya (March 2, 1967 – February 13, 2004). The bones of Fra Giuseppe and Fra Jose were transferred to small wooden ossuaries and brought to St. Joseph Friary in Tagaytay City. The rite of reception and Holy Mass was presided over by Fra Matthew Faraon, OFMConv., at around 2:00 pm. After the Mass, the remains of the two friars were re-interred in the columbarium at the side of the church.
