Four Brothers Begin Their Novitiate Journey

St. Joseph Friary, Tagaytay City, Philippines – On March 18, 2025, the eve of the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, four brothers embraced a new chapter in their spiritual journey as they received the habit of probation.

Fra Rocco Gil Acayen, Fra Carlo Arnel Tagulalap, Fra James John Glenn Galvez, and Fra Louis Ivanh Lloyd Cruz were officially accepted into the Novitiate program. Fra Emmanuel Giva, OFMConv., the Provincial Custos, presided over the ceremony, welcoming them into this sacred stage of formation.

In his reflection, Fra Emmanuel spoke about the profound "newness" of their commitment, drawing from St. Paul's exhortation: “Put on the new man.” He likened their transition to the excitement of childhood—when one eagerly anticipates new books, pencils, toys, and friendships. Likewise, he encouraged the brothers to embrace their new life with joy and dedication, for they now carry a new name, a new habit, and above all, a new model: Christ on the Cross.

Entrusting them to the care of the Novice Director, Fra Matthew Faraon, OFMConv., Fra Emmanuel affirmed their journey toward deeper discipleship, as they step forward in faith, clothed in the spirit of renewal and transformation.
