Inter-Franciscan Hermitage Experience 2024

The Franciscan Hermitage is an annual gathering that unites the entire Franciscan Family during the solemn season of Lent, committing to a day of profound spiritual engagement through guided reflection, moments of silence, the sacrament of confession, and heartfelt fraternal encounters.

This year, our contemplation leads us to explore the Stigmatization of St. Francis of Assisi, an event that transpired eight centuries ago, yet continues to resonate deeply within the Franciscan tradition. Guided by Friar Eric M. Dela Peña, OFMConv., the group delves into the theme of "Contemplating the Cross Through the Stigmata."

Around 300 Religious and Secular Franciscans, primarily from the Luzon area, gathered together last March 23rd at the San Damiano Spirituality Center in Tagaytay City for this year's event. Bishop Reynaldo Evangelista, DD, OFS, Bishop of the Diocese of Imus, led the Eucharistic celebration that marked the culmination of the day's events. It's worth noting that Bishop Rey is also a member of the Order of Franciscan Secular (OFS).
