The Philippine Custody held its Pre-Chapter Assembly from November 25 to 27, 2025, at St. Joseph Formation House and Spirituality Center in Tagaytay City.
The event opened with the Mass of the Holy Spirit presided by the Provincial Custos, Fr. Emmanuel Giva, OFMConv. The first session featured Fr. Dennis Vargas, OFMConv., who presented the workflow for the assembly. There was also a presentation of the proposed chapter committee heads and members, and a Convocation from the Mother Province of Naples was read.
Several reports were presented, including the canonical visitation report from the Assistant General for FAMC, Fr. Giuseppe Park, OFMConv. Reports from both the provincial and custodial levels, as well as from commission heads (formation, worship) and guardians of various houses, were likewise delivered. These reports were presented and scrutinized in the Plenum, followed by comments, suggestions, clarifications, and recommendations.
For group work and plenary sessions, the capitulars were divided into five groups of six to discuss and work on assembly topics using a prescribed methodology. Group sharing, work sessions, and plenary exchanges facilitated deeper reflection and constructive recommendations.
On the third day, Atty. Joseph Peter Calleja of the Calleja Law Firm presented the various legal concerns regarding the Custody’s Tanay property in Rizal. The Plenum then engaged in an exchange of clarifications, insights, and recommendations on this matter.
Community and fraternal activities—including common prayers, shared meals, fraternal nights, and celebrations with the postulants and novices—helped foster a strong sense of community spirit.
In conclusion, the Pre-Chapter Assembly was marked by collaborative discussions, communal prayer, and shared hopes for the continued growth and betterment of the Custody.
