An Invitation to Become Children of God

We see in this Sunday's readings a God who wants to be intimate with us. His visit to Abraham last week develops into a deep relationship. Abraham, our "father in the faith" and "friend of God" speaks boldly to God. That relationship grows and finds its peak in Jesus, the Son of God coming to dwell within us. Jesus continues that invitation to be his friend and brother in the Eucharist we celebrate. The Eucharist is the seal of the love of God.

Jesus' coming is to bring us back to the Father, for the impure to be made pure, for the unjust to be justified.

The Father is true to his promise to Abraham. For the sake of the only just Man, Jesus, He is not destroying the world. Jesus' coming is to bring us back to the Father, for the impure to be made pure, for the unjust to be justified. Jesus' gift of redemption is offered to all who would have a welcoming heart. It's a gift where Jesus paid a great price.
