"A man who fails to love the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass fails to love Christ!"

The Church today celebrates with great solemnity the feast of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Saviour instituted this beautiful sacrament as his continued presence in the Church. He is the bread of life that came from heaven to nourish us continually. The food that our first parents ate gave them death, the food that Jesus brought us instead, gave us back our life. The Eucharist is the epitome of our existence. It is, as the Church puts it, "the source and summit of every Christian life." It is where our life flows from and it is also where it finds its culmination. By receiving Jesus in the Eucharist, we are made into His own Body.

"The Eucharist is the epitome of our existence. It is, as the Church puts it, "the source and summit of every Christian life."

We are called to form the Body of Christ and to be part of it. Building the Church, the Body of Christ which was born from his love and sacrifice, we are asked to follow the way of Jesus, the way of love. We are asked to be a eucharist for the other to nourish our brethren by our love and sacrifice which flows from the love and sacrifice of Jesus.

May we learn from the mother of our eucharistic Lord!
