Celebrating the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity highlights the great mission of the Holy Spirit which is to unite, to build the Church, the people of God, the Body of Christ in the image and pattern of the Trinity.
The Holy Spirit, hovering on Mary, formed the flesh of Jesus in the purest womb of Mary, last week's celebration of Pentecost, we saw again the Holy Spirit hovering on Mary forming the Body of Christ, the Church, from the purest faith of Mary.
The Church asked each member of the Church to open our hearts so that the Holy Spirit may reveal to us the Trinity and that by knowing the Trinity, we may be joined with them.
Jesus, in the Gospel for today, tells us that the Holy Spirit will guide the Church and will continue to teach us the Truth, who is Jesus himself. He will continue the mission of Jesus. He will be the loving presence of Jesus in the Church, most especially in the Sacraments.
Let us continue to be attentive to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the "locus" where the Holy Spirit continues to reveal Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.
