This year, the Philippine Custody sends three simple professed friars to the new mission station in San Juan, Ilocos Sur. The mission is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia who entrusted a parish to the Custody under the titular name of St. John the Baptist.

The three simple professed friars, Maximilian Ma. Bumacod, Anthony Paul Ma. Sabater, and Raphael Ma. Ysulan will immerse into the parish community and will stay there for several months to get to know their apostolates and the culture of the people of the town. The parish is currently composed of two friars, Nicholas Ma. Solis as the Parish Priest and Uriel Ma. Santos as collaborator. At present, the friars reside as a Mission Presence under the community of the Immaculata Friary in Novaliches, Quezon City.

The Integration Program is non-academic and is designed for those preparing to make the perpetual profession of vows. It is a full expression for those who wish to follow the Lord by embracing the three evangelical counsels – poverty, chastity, and obedience – which they avowed through their first profession.
As stipulated by the local directory of formation, the participants will be sent to the different friaries of the Custody to live with the friars of the community. The friars-in-charge will assist the participants as needed for the program. Let us continue to pray for their perseverance and ministry.
