First Sunday of Advent
Today, as we start fresh, welcoming the new liturgical year, we are asked by holy mother Church to prepare for the coming of Jesus by opening our hearts to our Him, attentively listening to his words proclaimed during the holy sacrifice of the Mass and trying to concretize it by loving our neighbor, especially our less fortunate brothers and sisters.
Advent Season is a time to listen and reflect on our lives, knowing God, who was made visible to us in Jesus, taking the flesh from his Blessed Mother, Mary.
"Do whatever my Son tells you to do."
As Mary, woman of Faith, Hope, and Charity, prepared by listening to God, She encourages us also to listen to her Son: “Do whatever my Son tells you to do.”
Jesus came to us when the world was in darkness, for him to be our light. Mary became the bearer of this light so that we might see the path that leads us to our Father in heaven.
Let us cast off deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Like Mary, let us allow ourselves to be bearers of the true light, Jesus Christ!
