The King Who Serves

Today, the Church celebrates with great solemnity the feast of Christ, King of the Universe. The readings present to us the model of Catholic Christian leadership as lived by Jesus. His Kingship is that of Service founded on love. It gives us the model of the Good Shepherd who lays down his life for his sheep.

Our world needs to learn the true service from Christ, if he intends to live the fullness of life. One has to learn to lay down his life in order to find life.

One has to learn to lay down his life in order to find life.

When we look around the world, we find people fighting for power, money, and positions. This only brings void, loneliness and death. Leaders of the world should gaze on Jesus and learn to serve others rather than themselves. When we learn to serve others, we build the kingdom of God and we become sons and daughters of our Father in heaven. We acquire dignity not by money, power or positions. It is a gift that naturally comes with the kind of life we live.

Let us strive to live as children of God, loving and serving our brothers and sisters especially those who are in most need.
