25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
As we near the end of the liturgical year, the church gives us this parable of Jesus about a manager who is not faithful to his master, using what belongs to his master and charging more than what it should be and enriching himself with his corruption. Realizing that he is in trouble, he changed his ways and started to charge the people fairly.
Although his contrition is not a perfect contrition, it’s a good start to re-discover the goodness of his master to be able afterwards to arrive at a perfect contrition.
The master will be coming soon at the time we never expect and we have to be ready.
The church reminds us that the master will be coming soon at the time we never expect and we have to be ready. We need a contrite heart and humble spirit. We need to make reparations for the wrongdoings we had done. If our contrition is coming out of fear from the wrath of God, we should try to re-discover more the Father through Jesus. The pure and burning love of God will make our contrition perfect. We will not be wanting to offend him because his love for us is so great.
